Week 5 of Practicum !!
DAY 22 (Monday, 7th October 2024)
As for Day 22, I arrived at school at 6:40am and was greeted by a beautiful sunrise. I really love the sunrise at my school because it’s always so stunning. At 8am, there was a launching ceremony for English Week. My friends, Lily, Farhan and I prepared the gimmick for the event. We made helium balloons with letters spelling out English Week. This marks the start of an exciting week with lots of fun activities planned, and I can’t wait to be part of it!
As for Day 23, the day went as usual with my normal classes and a relief class. This time, it was my first time taking a relief class for Year 2. The students were so excited to see me in their class for the first time. We played a storytelling game called My Fat Cat, and they absolutely loved it, which made me so happy. After the school session ended, we had a meeting about the upcoming school camping event next month. I’m really excited about it!
DAY 24 (Wesnesday 9th October 2024)
As for Day 24, I had a relief class for Pendidikan Jasmani with my own class, 4 Hamka. Initially, I didn’t plan to take them to the field to play sports, but they begged me and promised to behave well during English class. So, I agreed and they were thrilled and excited. I let them play whatever they wanted and use any sports equipment available in the school sports store. They were all so happy and even thanked me because their regular Pendidikan Jasmani teacher usually doesn’t allow that haha! While watching them, I noticed three kids playing with some kind of "long shoes" equipment. It was funny and enjoyable to watch them having so much fun. Later in the afternoon, we had our co-curricular session. That week was Unit Beruniform's turn and I was with Tunas Kadet Remaja Sekolah. The teacher in charge taught the students on how to set up a tent in preparation for their camping trip next month. It was such a tiring day, but I really enjoyed everything that happened!
DAY 25 (Thursday, 10th October 2024)
As for Day 26, I had no classes at all because I had an event to handle, which was the World Tour Competition for Year 4 kids. I'm so glad that the event went smoothly from morning until noon. There were 16 groups in total and the picture I put above is the most beautiful one for me. They were from Group France, and their poster was so magnificent. One of the group members even brought real euro money to show to the audience. I really hope that their group will get the 1st prize! Then, after settling all the poster presentations, it was time for the Year 5 kids to have their public speaking competition, and suddenly I had to be one of the judges. It was my first time being a judge, and I felt kinda nervous. But their speeches were so interesting that they made me feel better and happy while listening to them. It was such a tiring day, but I was so happy to experience this kind of event together with my lovely Year 4 kids.
DAY 27 (Saturday, 12th October 2024)
As for Day 27, a lot of things happened, so get ready to read! It was the weekend but we had to go to school for Hari Sukan Negara which was held at all schools in Malaysia. We arrived at 7,30 AM, a bit late since the event started at 8,00 AM. The event began with a speech from our headmaster then followed by a warm-up session for aerobics. I really enjoyed the aerobics session because it was led by Cikgu Rashide, who is also a dancer. His choreography was fantastic! and the songs he chose were great too. Everyone including the students and teachers looked so happy. I felt very energetic that morning because starting the day with dancing was such a good idea. The Hari Sukan Negara event ended at 10.30 AM and we moved on to the next activity which is the Co-curricular Competition. Year 4, 5, and 6 students had a survival cooking competition in their uniformed units, while Year 1, 2, and 3 students have their own activities. I was a helper for the cooking competition and I was so excited to see what the students could do. Then, they started by lighting a fire using rocks and twigs, I was amazed with their survival skills. Each group were given one pack of instant noodles and two eggs to cook with and they had to be creative. Watching them cook with camping tools made me feel like we were on a camping trip. Everyone worked hard together. Usually, the boys cooked while the girls got the ingredients ready. After an hour, time was up. The dishes looked so good and they made my mouth-watering! But sadly, only the judges could taste the food, so I couldn’t try any of it. The Scouts unit won because their food followed the rules, tasted good, and looked amazing. They really deserved the prize! On noon, we clocked out from school and we went to a chicken rice shop in Ampang with our PK HEM for lunch. We took a selfie as a memories too and I was so happy because the food was delicious plus the price was affordable, definitely recommended! And that is how my Week 5 ended. It was such a busy week but I do enjoyed every moment of it.
