Week 4 of Practicum !!

 DAY 17 (Monday, 30th September 2024)

As for Day 17, it was the start of Week 4. I began the day as usual and had a relief class with 3 Ungku Aziz right after Farhan’s class. Before leaving, Farhan helped me manage the class for a while as I filled in the attendance book. After that, he handed the class over to me. Since the subject I was covering didn’t have any homework, I gave the students some handouts to keep them busy. It was a crossword puzzle and I asked them to colour it after they finished. Most of them did the activity correctly and coloured it nicely. It was a fun and productive session!

DAY 18 (Tuesday, 1st October 2024)

As for Day 18, there was an opening ceremony for Minggu Bahasa Melayu in the main hall. The kids performed on stage, dancing to a traditional song and I really enjoyed watching them. Before going to our classes, Farhan and I took a mirror selfie. Sorry, I just love taking selfies! Later, I had a relief class with Year 1 LBM. These kids have difficulty reading and some don’t even know their ABCs and the others can read but very slowly. It was a bit challenging for me since it was my first time teaching them, but I was happy that a few of them could follow along when I read a short story. For those who couldn’t read, I helped them one by one to learn the alphabet, A to Z. It was such a nice experience, and I wouldn’t mind teaching them again. They may not be the best at reading, but they are very polite and adorable.

DAY 19 (Wednesday, 2nd October 2024)

As for Day 19, the best part of the day was the co-curricular session after school. This week was for sports, and my sport is football. The session started in 3 Zaaba, where I took attendance for all the football members. After that, we went to the field for a friendly match between the Year 4 and Year 6 teams. They did some warm-ups before the game started. It was a fun match to watch!

DAY 20 (Thursday, 3rd October 2024)

As for Day 20, the day went as usual but I didn’t take many pictures. The only photo I have is of the food I received from Kak Fary and Kak Syu. They brought fried vermicelli with minced chicken and chicken rendang with sticky yellow rice. I was so happy to get the food because it’s my all-time favorite!

DAY 21 (Friday, 4th October 2024)

As for Day 21, I didn’t have any classes because all the male teachers went with the headmaster to Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) to help as volunteers. We carried old furnitures that the university didn’t need anymore, which they wanted to donate to our school. I helped carry a lot of chairs and big tables with the other teachers. It was a tiring day because we worked from morning until noon, but it was a good experience and it was my first time visiting the university. That is all for my journal on Week 4.
